Royal OAK strap

Royal OAK strap - Misterchrono Belgium

Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak luxury watch series was launched in 1972. Time has passed since then, but the Royal Oak continues to embody innovation in the world of fine watchmaking, boldly combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.

Royal OAK strap

Featuring a hand-polished stainless steel case, an iconic octagonal bezel with eight screws and its famous engraved dial, the Royal Oak is equipped with an integrated bracelet that has become emblematic. While this legendary bracelet has helped establish the aesthetic standards of this iconic Audemars Piguet model, there are several replacement options available that allow you to personalise your Royal Oak while respecting its aesthetic standards.

Just because the Royal Oak bracelet is integrated into the dial does not mean that it cannot be replaced.

The original Audemars Piguet strap

The Royal Oak's integrated metal bracelet is part of the signature of this model, which represents a certain idea of luxury combined with sportiness. The original bracelet was designed to blend seamlessly with the Royal Oak case. The polishing and assembly are done by hand, as is the adjustment of the links, regardless of the original material:

  • Materials: The original straps for a Royal Oak can be made of steel, gold (yellow, rose, white), titanium, and even tantalum (a rare metal discovered in the 19th century that is heavier than steel and scratch-resistant). The Royal Oak Offshore models come with two interchangeable rubber straps as standard.
  • The clasp: The clasp on a Royal Oak bracelet is equipped with a folding clasp, usually of the butterfly type. This type of clasp is available by clicking on this link

Which Royal Oak bracelet should you choose ?

Changing the strap on an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak may seem risky given how perfectly it fits the case, but thanks to Mister Chrono, nothing is impossible. To move away from an exclusively metal look, you can treat yourself to some very elegant or more sporty rubber straps, in keeping with the spirit of the Royal Oak Offshore or some more recent models. The advantage of this type of strap lies in its ‘SwimSkin®’ technology (a patented technology that guarantees the integrity and flexibility of the strap regardless of the conditions in which the watch is used).

Overview of the range of straps for the Royal Oak series by Audemars Piguet

  • Solid-colour rubber: The Royal Oak Offshore collection has chosen to supply each watch with two rubber straps suitable for water sports and outdoor activities. The rubber straps offered by Misterchrono Brussels combine the advantages of a comfortable and durable material with the prestige of a Royal Oak. Example: The black rubber strap is suitable for all Audemars Piguet Royal Oak models originally delivered with a metal or leather strap. This type of model is available in several colours and can accommodate the original folding clasp. The titanium bridge inserts ensure optimal fitting and perfect integration with the case of your Royal Oak.

  • Alligator-style rubber: Another example of a strap that can advantageously replace the original fitting is the vulcanised rubber strap with alligator skin texture and waterproof, hydrophobic stitching (one of the features of ‘SwimSkin®’ technology). This strap can be fitted to an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore or any other model in the Royal Oak series.

  • Rubber and fabric: If you want your Royal Oak to benefit from SwimSkin® technology, you can also opt for mixed straps (rubber and fabric). In addition to their more modern look, this series of straps is incredibly comfortable.
